Unwrap a Jaguar: The Gift
Jaguar
Parodied by Saturday Night Live, the highest honor I could imagine. We shot it at a house in Pasadena, with a fake living room built on the front lawn for the reveal. Jaguar loved it and ran it for two years.

Jaguar Holiday Sales Event
The art department had to build a bow that would flap in the wind. Lots of bow tests in the alley behind the studio.

Jaguar

Jaguar
Shot on Mulholland Drive, in the back of a church parking lot on a gloomy day. A colorist brought up the sky. Very simple spot.

Land Rover
Lots of compositing: the rock wall is actually three shots, and it stood behind the dealership. Nothing like shooting a TV spot in 110-degree Palm Springs heat. Land Rover loved it, so we shot the rock wall again with the new vehicle the following year. Hats off to Tool and Eric Joyner.

Jaguar
Enhanced running footage.

20+ years in Photoshop, a former instructor and the go-to retoucher at agencies. AI now lets me remove backgrounds, clean up images and build scenes that weren't possible a few years ago, at a fraction of the cost.

A typical 3D computer render (before), then an AI background and retouching (after).
Service mailers and coupons are the foundation of dealer marketing, and I have 25+ years in automotive. You get more than a manufacturer ad planner offers, and with low overhead I can usually beat the competition on price. I can design a package for anything you sell.

AI makes my work faster and more affordable. I use it for research, for retouching, and to explore more directions, from interactive concepts to motion and 3D.
It doesn't replace what I do; it amplifies it. AI is quick at suggesting options. I bring the judgment, the taste and an understanding of your brand and your customers.

“Ron’s approach to creative problem solving can best be described as inventive, resourceful, and innovative. Definitely one of those guys that makes you say, ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’”
“There is no amount of work that Ron can’t accomplish. … He is sure to become your ‘go-to’ guy as well.”
“… Ron has that rare sense of creativity that can make or break a campaign. … He brings concepts to the next level and makes them look great.”
I studied advertising, illustration and graphic design at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, then art-directed for Y&R, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA\Chiat\Day, Innocean and Designory. Since 2010 I've handled art direction for Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Kia, GM and Honda programs at BI Worldwide.
Every project starts with a strong idea. The work should be original and emotionally resonant, stay true to your brand, and be proofread three times. I believe we achieve more when we collaborate, with kindness, respect and teamwork.
